Woody Learns How
to Decorate Easter Eggs

Woody and his parents were spending a weekend at their favorite RV park. That Saturday, the park manager had an Easter egg hunt, and Woody and all of the other kids had a great time finding eggs hidden around the playground. Later, the campers and RVers got together for a pot-luck lunch in the pavilion.

Suddenly, Woody ran up to his parents and cried, “Come quick! I’ve just seen a rabbit, and we’ve got to follow it and find its eggs.”

“Oh Woody,” said Woody’s mother, “rabbits are mammals like people and moose, they don’t lay eggs. Anyway, it isn’t a good idea to chase a wild animal like a rabbit, they are very timid and easily frightened.”

“But, Mom,” said Woody, “didn’t the eggs we found today come from the Easter Bunny?”

“Well Woody,” said his dad, “Although some Easter eggs may come from the Easter Bunny, the eggs you found were decorated by the campground staff.”

“I have an idea,” said his mom. “Let’s decorate some eggs ourselves tonight. I have some egg dye in the RV and we have lots and lots of eggs. Why don’t you invite some of your friends over and you can decorate eggs with paint and construction paper.”

“Golly,” said Woody, “that sounds like lots of fun. I can’t wait to invite some friends.” Woody then hurried out to ask his camping buddies.

Below are instructions to make three of the great decorated eggs that Woody and his friends created. Try these to start out with, then use your imagination to create your own masterpieces.
